Dinner with an Italian Winemaker!

1710 Railroad St, Enumclaw, WA 98022

It's that time of year again to hang with our favorite Italian Winemaker!

Get ready for an amazing night of indulgence!  Below is the menu for the five courses and the wine pairings to go with them.

Grilled Veggie Stuzzichini

The word "stuzzichini" is pronounced "stoo-zih-ki-ni" and is a small Italian snack. We will be serving a grilled veggie crostini with roasted red pepper and goat cheese. + Paired with Guerra Albano Ribolla Gialla Brut. 40-year-old vines and an average of just 900 grams (less than 1 bottle) per plant help deliver a sparkling wine with true poise and complexity. With an array of orchard fruit and lively minerality, this Brut also exhibits the estate's trademark “marrow” quality that bespeaks of soft minerals and salt. The bubbles are soft and silky, with an elegant, lingering finish.

Octopus Niçoise Salad with House Made Chimichurri

Octopus, baby potatoes, cherry tomatoes, green olives, and romaine lettuce. All tossed together and drizzled with a house made Chimichurri sauce. + Paired with Luccicante Vermentino Colline di Levanto Bianco DOP. From the warm and breezy village of Bonassola just north of Cinque Terre comes this sublime, elevated take on Vermentino. Grown on a rare, 200 m plateau right on the sea, these 23-year-old vines are treated like gold. A bright, herbal, complex nose gives way to a fairly regal palate of tremendous concentration and viscosity, followed by a long, saline finish. $28/Glass $84/Bottle +

3oz Meatball

A 3oz meatball sunken in a bed of Pappardelle, smothered in house made marinera sauce and covered with parmesan Reggiano. + Paired with Antonio Sanguineti - Morellino di Scansano. Antonio Sanguineti knew that winemaking was his calling from a very young age. At 16, he was making wine at his family’s farm near Siena. Now, he is known the world over for crafting wines with intention and innovation. This is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Alicante and the grapes are grown on vines that overlook The Tyrrhenian Sea. This wine is medium bodied and plush, with notes of black pepper, dried herbs and spice. $12/Glass $36/Bottle +

Venison W/ Quinoa and Roasted Vegetables

Tender Venison slices with a Red Wine reduction sauce, served with quinoa and roasted vegetables. + Paired with Edi Simcic Duet. just over the Italian border, in the natureblessed zone of Goriška Brda, Simčič is turning traditional heads with his stunningly bold wines. His Duet is pure Simčič: bold, stirring, compelling. Its richness is like a restaurant-only dessert: chocolate, cherries, cheesecake, and coffee. Its silky tannins underscore a lush, ripe, fruit-full body that goes on and on, and will improve for 20 years.+

Crème Brûlée

Crème Brûlée + Paired with Antonio Sanguineti Passo Santo. Translating as "blessed moment", Passo Santo is the unique name Antonio crafted to accompany his light-hearted, accessible take on Vin Santo. With tawny aromas and flavors including toasted hazelnuts, caramel, honey, and dried apricot, this dessert wine is sweet enough to accompany homemade almond biscotti or crème brûlée... but light and zingy enough to pair just as well with a cheese course at the end of the meal. +
